Tongtai Hosts Marine Debris Upcycling Workshop
What can something collected from the shoreline become?
Sustainability is not only a direction for corporate development. It can also begin with everyday actions.
Tongtai invited Sea Waste Lab from Penghu to introduce employees to marine debris and ocean conservation. Through beach cleanup stories and a hands-on “marine debris fish magnet” workshop, participants were encouraged to look at discarded materials from a different perspective and rediscover their potential value.
Using materials recovered from the coast, employees transformed what had once been left behind as waste into unique handmade pieces. In doing so, the idea of resource reuse became something tangible and practical.
The activity also supported SDG 14: Life Below Water. By combining ocean conservation awareness with hands-on reuse practices, Tongtai continues to bring environmental sustainability into its corporate culture and encourages everyone to consider a simple question in daily life: What more can we do for the ocean?
